Book and publication design

Carole Thickstun and Larry Ormsby specialize in designing and illustrating publications for natural history associations, zoological organizations and trade publishers. They have been developing their graphic design style for twenty years, spanning significant technological innovations. Today, their completed design work is provided electronically press ready. Many of their design and illustration efforts have received awards.

Sculpted by Ice: Glaciers and the Alaska Landscape has been a recipient of several awards, including a first place in the book category at the National Interpreters Association's 2005 Media Awards competition. Michael Collier's aerial photographs and compelling story about Alaska's glaciers, coupled with Lawrence's maps and diagrams create a visually rich look at Alaska's rivers of ice. It is available at Alaska Natural History's website. (Download PDF of cover or the first pages)

A Guide to Exploring Grand Teton National Park, by Linda L. Olson & Tim Bywater, was redesigned in 2005 with 75 full color photos, dozens of maps and numerous wildlife illustrations, total of 144 pages.
